Outbreak is designed to function as a stand-alone program for conducting risk assessments related to disease in wildlife populations. It can also be coupled with the Vortex Population Viability Analysis software to provide more extensive population risk assessments, incorporating consideration of disease, demographic stochasticity, environmental variation, genetic change, and management actions. The Vortex program can be obtained from http://www.vortex9.org/vortex.html.
At this time, Outbreak is provided without a manual or other support. It is anticipated that a manual will be produced in the near future. Watch this website for further information and upgrades.
If you think you discover a bug in Outbreak, send a message describing the problem in detail to outbreak@vortex9.org.
